Sustainability Commitment

Mountain Field Traders' sustainability commitment is to leverage the reuse economy to help reduce e-waste and conserve resources.

Procurement & Inventory Management

  1. Purchase Reused Devices, Parts, Components, Accessories, equipment & tools to reduce the demand for new manufacturing.
  2. Avoid buying Replacement Devices, Parts, Components, Accessories when possible to Maximize component harvesting and internal reuse.
  3. Implement Closed-Loop Component Use by systematically harvesting and inventorying functional internal components from "For Parts Only" items to Further minimize waste and supports sustainable repairs on certified products.

Packaging & Shipping

  1. Purchase Recycled Packaging and Supplies to Reduce the demand for virgin materials and supports the recycling industry.
  2. Implement Right-Sizing Packaging by using the smallest possible box or envelope for every order and eliminating excess void fill to Reduce material usage & emissions due to lowered shipping weight/volume.
  3. Promote Eco-Friendly Shipping by offering and promoting a local pick-up option for nearby customers to reduce shipping emissions.

Restoration & Operations

  1. Use Natural Environmental Friendly Cleaning and Polishing Supplies to reduce the use of harsh chemicals & minimizing environmental contamination.
  2. Utilize energy-efficient equipment and operations to reduce overall energy consumption footprint.
  3. Prioritize waterless or low-water cleaning by using dry cleaning methods (e.g., compressed air, microfiber cloths) over wet cleaning when possible to conserve water resources.

Promotion & Customer Education

  1. Promote reuse sustainability, e-waste, right to repair, circular economy and related concepts to reduce overall ewaste.
  2. Implement Carbon Offset Transparency by calculating and displaying the estimated E-waste weight saved by purchasing a specific item to Quantify the environmental benefit of the reuse economy.
  3. Commit to Digital-First Documentation (digital-only invoices, user guides, and internal documents) to minimize paper and ink waste.

We are continually working to enhance and update our processes as we transition from older unsustainable methods. Although not there yet, we are striving to achieve fully sustainable operations.
